High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) is emerging as a promising non-invasive treatment option for bladder cancer. Recent preclinical studies demonstrated HIFU's effectiveness in precisely ablating cancerous bladder tissue without causing bladder wall perforation or other significant adverse effects. This innovative approach utilizes focused ultrasound waves to target and destroy malignant cells within the bladder wall, offering patients a potentially safer alternative to invasive surgical procedures. HIFU ablation could significantly reduce the morbidity associated with traditional bladder cancer treatments, minimize hospital stays, and improve patient recovery times and quality of life. Ongoing clinical evaluations aim to validate these preclinical findings, positioning HIFU as a viable and patient-friendly therapeutic alternative in the management of NMIBC.
